About Us

Kat Green
I was born and raised in New York.  My family was of Italian heritage and, needless to say, something was always cooking in the kitchen.  An Italian Mom's purpose in life was to cook for her family.  And my Mom was no exception. She was a wonderful cook, but didn't enjoy baking all that much.  The bakers in the family were my grandmother and my aunts.  And did they ever bake.  I always looked forward to the holidays for the wonderful goodies they prepared.  Those days were very happy memories for me.

It wasn't until I was on my own that I developed a passion for baking and that passion continues to this day.  Over the years, I have perfected my baking but I am always learning.

When I am not baking, you can find me at work in my garden.  I get such joy from the beauty of flowers.  I find that there is something so peaceful when you work in the garden.  My favorite flowers are lavender roses. They are one of the rarest and visually stunning rose colors. The lavender rose is often a sign of enchantment and love at first sight. Those who have been enraptured by feelings of love have used lavender roses to express their romantic feelings.

I was born in Florida and my family is of Italian heritage also. My grandmother, who came right from Italy, was a fantastic cook and baker. My Mom got her great skills from her and passed them down to me. As far back as I can remember, I was always in the kitchen wanting to help with cooking and especially the baking. I even helped with decorating the cakes.

I have always loved to bake and share my ideas with others. I learned the best way to put a smile on someone's face is through their eyes first and then through their stomach.

I also love to garden in my spare time. It doesn't matter if it is flowers or even a vegetable garden that keeps the imagination going. That is what inspires me. It could be flowers, balloons, confetti, or just a simple cake you have in mind. I imagine what looks good and put it all together.
